Kent County Council – Energy Saving offers

Getting Green Deal Ready in Kent

Kent and Medway have formed a Green Deal Partnership (KMGDP) group to support Kent residents and businesses take advantage of both the Green Deal and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO).  The Green Deal, the Government’s new scheme to encourage energy efficiency measures in households and businesses, officially launched in October 2012.  Individuals are now able to have a Green Deal assessment of their property and should be able to start installing measures through Green Deal loans from the 28 January 2013.  There are cash back incentives available for households who take up early Green Deal plans.  The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) launched in January and is a source of funding from energy companies to support measures in low income households or high cost carbon saving measures.  DECC has produced some quick guides which give some valuable information about Green Deal and ECO.

KMGDP is currently focusing on ECO and will engage with an ECO funding provider to work on pilot projects that could lead to retrofit in up to 5000 homes in Kent over the next 2 years and provide an Affordable Warmth programme for the county.

FREE GREEN DEAL ASSESSMENT WORTH £150!
The Kent and Medway Green Deal Partnership are currently offering Kent and Medway residents a free Green Deal Assessment which will identify the potential for installing energy efficiency measures in the home.  This free assessment, worth over £150, can then be used to develop a Green Deal plan to identify what home improvements would be worth investing in to save you money on energy bills. The offer is available for a short time only and we are looking for around 150 pioneering residents across the county to have the Assessment carried out. We are aiming to have these fully funded Assessments completed by the middle of March 2013.  If you feel this offer would be of interest to members of your community group please do circulate the further information and an application form attached to this e-mail.
