Mushroom season

This autumn’s first field mushrooms are now appearing in grass “after the first autumn rains”, as it says in the books!

I’ve been picking a few that I’ve collected from around the parish and they are absolutely delicious. Here is a link (hope it works) to a website to help with identification – but don’t eat unless you are sure that they actually are field mushrooms!
